OLIVE SQUALANE

Squalene is a structurally unique triterpene compound that is one of the main components (about 13%) of skin surface lipids [1]. It was so named because it was first isolated from shark (Squalus spp.) liver oil, which contains large quantities and is considered its richest source [2]. However, it is widely distributed in plants too (phytosqualane), with reasonable amounts found in olive oil, palm oil, wheat-germ oil, amaranth oil, and rice bran oil.

We use Olive Squalane which is extracted from the fresh olive pomace, which includes the skin, pulp and pit of the olive. It is a lightweight, transparent, tasteless, and odorless liquid that reflects the Squalene component of human sebum.

Truly one of nature’s great emollients, squalane is recognised today as an essential ingredient of cosmetic formulations. It is quickly and efficiently absorbed deep into the skin, it restores suppleness and elasticity without leaving an oily residue, it prevents transepidermal water loss, has a strong moisturising effect, it delivers oxygen deep into the skin and promotes healthy skin cell rejuvenation so it is a naturally anti-ageing plant active suited to all skin types, even the most sensitive. ARGAN Seeds Oil

Argan oil is produced from the kernels of the argan tree (Argania spinosa L.) that is endemic to Morocco where almost all of the oil is sourced from. Renowned for its restorative and anti-ageing benefits, Argan oil has been used for centuries by the women of Morocco as part of their daily skincare, hair care and nail care routines.

It contains carotenoids, polyphenols, ferulic acid, squalene, steroids, and vitamin E which are potent antioxidants. It also has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, fungicidal, and moisturizing properties. In its composition, there's Squalene, which is one of the moisturizing components that has the greatest ability to penetrate the skin because it's very similar to the natural oils of the skin.

An excellent moisturiser for a wide range of skin conditions, Argan oil absorbs quickly and leaves no residue. BLACKCURRANT Seeds Oil

It is a precious seed oil extracted from the currant shrub. Its unique and very balanced fatty acid composition mainly consists of the unsaturated Gamma-Linolenic Acid (also known as GLA or Omega 6) and the Alpha-Linolenic Acid (ALA or Omega 3) providing an excellent ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 and the rarely found stearidonic acid (SDA).

GLA in particularly is an essential fatty acid that cannot be made naturally by your body but is essential for:

BORAGE Seeds Oil

Borage oil is extracted from the seeds of the Borago officinalis plant.

It is another precious oil prized as one of the richest sources of Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA) content. Cooked as a vegetable, eaten as a salad, and mixed with wine, the Borage plant has a long history of being a commonly ingested plant.

It is only recently that Borage seeds Oil started appearing in skincare products, but in ancient times Borage was referred to as bee bread because bees loved the blue star-shaped flower. The plant was also called starflower, as a result of its blue star-shaped appearance. The Greek physician Dioscorides claimed, "Borage can cheer the heart and lift depressed spirits."

MACADAMIA Oil

It's the second closest match to the naturally occurring sebum of the skin. It contains high levels of Squalene - an oleic acid that assists with cell regeneration - and high levels of Omega 7 (Palmitoleic acid) beneficial for mature skin, wounds, scratches, premature wrinkles and burns.
